Dr. Georgios Gitas is a specialized Gynecologist-Oncologist and he is the director at the department of Gynecology-Robotic Surgery of European Interbalkan Medical Center. He dealt with the most challenging cases of gynaecological cancer while being Head of the Center for Endoscopy, Urogynecology and Endometriosis of the University Hospital of Lübeck (UKSH) in Germany. He has been recognized as a top class surgeon as a Leader of the world-renowned Center for Gynecological Oncology (that also includes a Breast Center) of Berlin’s University Hospital Charité Campus Mitte. He has used his surgical skills and advanced techniques to perform complex procedures for the following:

• Minimally invasive hysterectomy, even for extremely enlarged uteri, using pioneering techniques (robotic with the da Vinci system, laparoscopic, vaginal, open). Myomectomy for multiple and large uterine fibroids (robotic, laparoscopic, hysteroscopic).

• Endometriosis treatment (laparoscopic, robotic for advanced deep endometriosis). 
  

• Colpofixation for uterine prolapse with or without mesh (pectopexy – ctenopexy, robotic or laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy, Amreich-Richter vaginal approach). Anterior/posterior colporrhaphy for cystocele or enterocele, with or without mesh; placement of a TVT sling or endoscopic (robotic/laparoscopic) Burch colposuspension for incontinence correction without mesh.

• Breast examination (palpation, ultrasound, biopsy).
  

• Lumpectomy/segmental mastectomy with oncoplastic reconstruction under ultrasound guidance or wire localization. 
  

• Radical/subcutaneous mastectomy with or without prosthetic reconstruction.
  

• Sentinel lymph node technique for breast, endometrial, cervical, and vulvar cancer using indocyanine green (ICG) or technetium (Tc-99m). Diagnostic hysteroscopy and laparoscopy for infertility High-risk pregnancy monitoring, vaginal birth / cesarean section.
  

•  Preventive gynecological screening (Pap test, HPV DNA test, ultrasound). 

• Office-based colposcopy with biopsy, treatment of cervical dysplasia, cervical loop excision. Diagnostic/interventional hysteroscopy for abnormal uterine bleeding, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, fibroids, uterine septum, adhesions, and congenital uterine anomalies.

• Advanced surgery techniques, including exenteration in recurrent cancer, radical hysterectomies with a nerve-sparing technique for cervical cancer, trachelectomy, pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy, sentinel lymph node detection using indocyanine green (ICG), advanced PMMR (peritoneal mesometrial resection) techniques for endometrial cancer, tumor debulking in ovarian cancer with en bloc resection, omentectomy, splenectomy, vulvectomy, inguinal lymph node dissection, deep endometriosis treatment with pelvic nerve dissection, endoscopic correction of prolapse/cystocele without vaginal incision, urogynecological surgical mesh implants etc.
  
  

• Preventive gynecological examination - performing Pap tests and ultrasounds
  

• Use of all available surgical techniques depending on the condition treated, age and desire of the patient (Robotic Surgery, Laparoscopy, Vaginal Surgery, Open Surgery, Invasive Hysteroscopy)
